Signs make for an easy photo-op, but I have a sense that today's social media landscape is more about sharing experiences than pictures. Folks don't want to just post a selfie with a sign anymore, they want to "try the viral Beavertail taco" near a sign.
I'd encourage any municipal officials looking to invest in social media tourism to consider what visitors are able to do/try/experience in front of the backdrop in addition to setting the visual stage.
The students have removed many of the street signs. Which makes it very hard to find your way around . It would be really nice if the students made an effort at being the adults they want to be and replaced them at their expense . Just a thought..
